Similarily, if you don't have enough cargo capacity in between, this also affects demand. Once you have setup that supply chain, you need to have enough capacity on your cargo links to supply each component in the chain (ie plant or factory).Įssentially if a city stops demanding a specific item or you have capped it out, this will flow all the way down the chain to the starting point (ie Farm, Mine, Quarry etc) and they will stop producing. Essentially, the final destination must have demand for a specific item (ie Tools, Food, Goods, Machines, Constr Mats & Fuel) AND you are delivering it to the correct zone within the city. I can pretty much answer both questions above by saying that all production in this game is demand driven. If you do not control the routing of trains they will just take the shortest route to the destination. All routing is path based and is controlled via waypoints and one way signals. Have these gameplay things changed in transport fever?Įssentially trains do not have any AI and will not 'choose' a platform. if an industry isn't producing anything, placing a station next to it and a line to something that will accept the cargo, still wont produce anything. every cargo producer has specific destinations (and mostly the closest one), and if your line wasn't set up between what it runs on the road itself, then SOL.ģ. Also if you wanted to take from Industry A to city C then no cigar also. If you wanted to take cargo from producer A to industry B no cigar. Once its decided to start production, you then set up a quicker route between producer A and industry A, and industry A and City A. In trainfever you have to wait until primary producer A starts sending product to industry A, which then produces goods and sends them to City A. Say I set up a station like the following pic, are the trains going to use any free platform, or do the lines always restrict it to whatever single platform it sees fit? in this case the top lineĢ. ![]() So I fired up train fever again, just to see what annoyed the hell out of me with it, and wondering if they fixed/changed some things:ġ. Additionally, when you nominate a vehicle for auto replacement you can spec the carriages as well. You need to send the vehicles back to the depot and once in there they can be re-specced or you can do this in the depot purchase screen before assigning it to the route. ![]() No way of changing at trains manifest as part of a route. I'm glad there are none tbh, as it would be quite annoying to lose millions of dollars due to placing a signal incorrectly. Quests that leave you wondering 'what am I supposed to do' Havent experienced this yet Quests that don't seem to go anywhere I've only done the first couple of the European campaign and they are fine, although they do take a long time to complete (even on fastest game speed, this is more due to the speed of the vehicles in the late 1800s or early 1900s though) Click the little cross icon at the top left of the window Some of this may be just me not knowing or understanding how to do things (which is a failing of the tutorial)įrom a Window, I can't zoom the main screen to a vehicle or building. I think I'll shelve it and see if it gets patched. I had high hopes for this as a successor to OpenTTD, but the severe lack of polish really hurts it.
